Building links between the classroom and home to benefit children's learning

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT MODULES FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHERS TO ASSIST WITH A MULITMODAL APPROACH IN THE CLASSROOM

OBJECTIVE: assist in being able to confidently induct multiliteracy texts to their programming and link learning experiences with children's wider communitites.

CONCLUSION

At the completion of these multi modal modules the aim will be for educators to not only understand the processes underlying children's acquisition of multi literacy awareness, but also to improve on these processes and related competencies. Family involvement in schools can have a positive influence on students school achievements. when parents feel good about their school involvement and the schools instructional efforts, they tend to hold high expectations for their children, which in turn can have a positive impact on their learning - and on teachers and teachers morale and self confidence. These positive outcomes are associated with parents and teachers forming partnerships that are respectful of one another's perspectives.
